I really like Menard's. They have a huge selection of items. It's a cross between Home Depot and Lowe's, with some groceries thrown in for good measure.

Was there on last Friday at 6 AM for Thanksgiving sale. There was no parking space, anywhere! (cars were parked even on curbside grass of the road leading to Menards.) But that could be well out of their control. Bigger disappointment was that there were no shopping carts available. So after spending 20-30 minutes the Menards staff brought in big plastic trash cans to be used as shopping carts. Even though it was not comfortable to use, I was fine with it as it was biggest sales day for them. So after putting in whatever I could in the trash can and not buying a few items from my list as I had no way to carry those to the checkout, I stood in checkout line. When I was checking out the items, the biggest disappointment came. The person at checkout asked me if I want to buy the trash can. When I said no, I was told: "You can take it out of the store only if you buy it!" The tone I heard was "Got you!" This was not told when their staff was handing these. I think they should NOT have given these in first place if they didn't want to allow people to carry those out of store. But this would have caused loss of business to them. So they tricked people like me in carrying those trash can's, spending time and effort in shopping with it and at the end at checkout counter tell them that you can't take it out of store unless you buy it for $10! I feel it was really unprofessional.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here. The checkout lines are SO SLOW. And few. I would pay money for a fast self-checkout area, like at Home Depot (oh no, they've driven me to compliment Home Depot!!). Menards has good prices but variable quality. And they offered me no help when their garage door torsion spring broke after only 2 years (average is 8 years). So yeah, not a happy shopping experience.

Here a lot due to building a house. Everyone is super nice. Especially the security at the warehouse area. They always put a smile on my face. The rebates are nice and there are sales frequently. It's quicker than Home Depot to get assistance.

The people at Menard are helpful and nice but I drove 1 1/2 hours away to get a white gas cookstove. The reason I drove that far is because white gas stove is a special order!? It takes 2 weeks for a special order! When we got home with the stove it was damaged! So basically I drive that far for nothing! Please work on getting your appliances shipped a little sooner than 2 weeks!
